The Materials Collection (美少女戦士セーラームーン設定資料集) is a photo-book with all of Takeuchi Naoko’s preliminary and prototype designs of the characters specifically for animation. It includes illustrations of each character, minus monsters-of-the-day and other one-shot appearances for all five seasons of the series. This collection is especially useful for Sailor Moon cosplayers who are looking to create the most accurate representation of a specific character’s outfit possible. Some of the prototype characters never made it into the final cut for the anime (like Diana the Moon Fairy), so this is also an interesting read for serious fans of the show. (Source: Miss Dream)
